My story begins...
I remember when I was just 16 years old I began to wonder about what I'm going to do with my life and where my future is headed.
Before this, I was just a kid, and it didn't really matter to me at the time. The future was always, "When I grow up, I'm going to be a ..."
But I suddenly found myself in a position where I was growing up, and it was time to finally decide what to do.
So I got a job (and a very low paying one at that) as a pizza boy, and I started my life as a "productive citizen", or at least that's what my teachers called it. I was only making $6 bucks an hour.
After about 5 or 6 months of this, I started to wonder how exactly this is going to make me happy in my life.
Always getting bossed around at work, being forced to do degrading or humiliating things like wash stacks of greasy pizza pans, all the sauce buckets, clean the nasty cheese bins, take out the overflowing garbage...
Just the mere feeling of getting my hands all wrinkled up like prunes every day from washing dishes and the smell of old food mixed with cleaning agent was really starting to put me off the whole "job" thing.
But I needed the money. I was a young kid and there were cool gadgets I had to buy. Plus, I just wanted to have enough money to be able to hang out with my friends and go to the movies, local events, etc.
And the sad thing was that not more than 3, 4, maybe 5 days after I got my paycheck...
The Money Was GONE!
What the??? Two weeks of hard labor, slaving away in a dungeon, making pizza, delivering it to ungrateful customers who don't even know what a tip is, washing grimy greasy dishes.... all for what! A couple days of fun?
And I didn't even get to HAVE that much fun. After all, just because I got my paycheck, doesn't mean I could stop working. I had to work 5 or 6 days a week, AND go to school at the same time, so I didn't even HAVE time to enjoy the little money I DID make.
I remember one day, I was reflecting on the whole situation — jobs, school, life — and I remember that I looked at my mom and said:
"Mom, I really admire you. You've been doing this for 25 years and somehow your head is still attached... I've only been doing this for 6 freakin' months and I'm about to explode!"
She laughed and said:
"Well son, that's how life is. You have to get a good high school education, so you can get into a good college, and then get a good secure job. That's the only way you can be safe in this day and age..."
"And I know it's not fun at times, and even hard, but in the end it will be worth it, so you can live a happy life, raise a family, and own a nice house of your own one day."
I thought about what she said, and I took it to heart.
She's right. How could I ever afford to go to college if I don't do good in high school? And how could I ever get a good job if I don't go to college and graduate? And how could I ever raise a family and own my own cars and house if I don't have a good job?
Well, these questions and this sort of "scarcity-mentality" started eating away at me, and I decided to get strong and work hard. I was determined to live a good life, so I said that I will study hard, get good grades, impress my boss, go to a good college, graduate, and live "THE LIFE".
And so I started doing it.
I studied hard. I dual-enrolled in high school and the local community college, and by the time I graduated high school I had already received my 2 year Associates Degree.
I got into a good college and continued my Undergraduate studies in Business.
I got my very own first car, and car-note to go along with it.
I got a better job as a cell-phone salesman.
Boy, was I feeling good! I was living "the life" my mom had told me about!
I was working HARD at my job and trying to impress my boss and co-workers at every chance I had. I was determined to become manager and get that promotion I soo deserved.
Well, days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and months to years, and I never got that promotion.
I thought to myself, "I just have to work harder and THEN I'll get that promotion and raise. They're probably just testing me to see if I'm gonna hold up under the pressure. After all, why wouldn't they give it to me?"
So, as naive as I was, I pushed myself to work even harder and prove to them that I'm worthy. I pushed myself so hard to the point where I became so stressed out and exhausted, that I started having full blown anxiety attacks!
At this point, I said to myself "Woah now, what's going on. Why am I doing all this if I don't get anything in return? I mean, I'm sitting here shaking, stressed out, and I'm just barely 20 years old!"
So after work, I went home and lied down in my bed to relax and try to calm my nerves, and I remember I slowly drifted away into...
An Awesome Dream!
I remember this dream very vividly, because quite literally, it was the dream that changed my life.
I had a dream and it went a little something like this...
It was a bright and sunny Sunday morning. I woke up, slowly rolled out of bed and went to the kitchen to brew a steaming hot cup of organic green tea. I enjoyed to sip it slowly and soak up the aromatic essence of it.
After all, there was no rush because I owned my very own business... one where I didn't have a boss to answer to, where I didn't have any hard work to do, and where I didn't even have to wake up in the mornings to go to work — I worked at home.
In fact, my business completely ran itself!
I didn't have to wake up to an alarm in the morning, because my day started on my time. And besides that, all the work was being done automatically by my perfectly automated business.
I was making over $1,000 profit per day and I didn't even have to get out of my pajamas! Life was great. Money was no problem.
New Car? Paid in cash. New clothes for my wife? Paid in cash. Finally telling my boss to SCREW OFF! Priceless.
I could travel the world any time I wanted, I could visit fancy resorts and stay in the Master Suite without even blinking over the cost.
I partied with celebs, I hung out with famous people, and in fact I was sort of famous myself. After all, being rich brings it's own sort of fame!
I could take time to go out and improve my golf game (yep, it's one of my hobbies)...
I could take time to fix up my supercar and take it down to the track for a few laps...
... or I could hop in my Maserati and just cruise on down to the shopping center...
... which happened to be one of the most luxury and prestigious malls in the entire city, where I could buy literally ANYTHING I wanted in a heartbeat!
I was LOVIN' my life!
I mean, how great would that be!
I remember having this great dream, and then suddenly, Poof. My alarm clock went off. My beautiful dream, instantly vaporized by the loud buzzing sound of my incredibly annoying alarm clock.
Damn, it's 6:45 a.m. and I have to get up for work now. Oh, and after I spend the next 30 minutes rushing to get ready, I have to pray and hope that I beat rush hour traffic.
Of course, that's not possible. I can't beat rush-hour traffic because millions of other people are trying to do the same exact thing I am.
Crap.
So I'm in my car now, spending an excessive amount of time driving to work, hoping some idiot doesn't fall asleep while he's driving and smash into me with his Oversized SUV / Lifted Monster Truck.
...Great, I survived. Now I'm at work. Here comes the boss. A good day meant that he won't upset me more than twice. Well, too bad it was rarely a good day.
...Finally, it's time to go home. Back to the rush-hour traffic.
Life was really starting to seem hopeless at this point.
After doing this day after day, week after week, MONTH AFTER MONTH, I was starting to think I couldn't do it anymore.
I was becoming EXHAUSTED.
And then,
I finally realized...I had to do something different!
Let me introduce myself...
My name is R.B. and I like to call myself "The Rich Boy". I was originally born in Phoenix, Arizona — but I grew up near the city of Beijing, China.
One day, I got Sick and Tired of the "Rat Race" and promised myself that I would do something to completely change my life and find a way to NEVER work a job again. After all, my wife and I deserve a better life!
I was tired of answering to my boss, tired of sucking up to him just to pray for a $0.50/hour raise once every 6 months. I worked my ass off and he treated me like disposable garbage, only giving me 2 weeks of vacation time per year!
I remember thinking "When is it going to be time for MY life?"
I felt like I wasted my time at my job, 8 hours or more a day taken out of my life and completely blown... no development... no fun... with no point... and for a measly little 3-digit paycheck. Ridiculous!
I even tried the Multi-Level-Marketing with Quixtar (damn, that was a mistake!)
I tried outside sales for T-Mobile, inside sales for Best Buy, working for a multi-national corporation... all in vain! Nothing gave me the freedom I wanted. It was always work, work, work!
But I knew there had to be a way to make BIG BUCKS without sacrificing my entire life to long boring business meetings, or selling out to some scammy corporation who only thinks about bigger profits for THEM at the expense of the PUBLIC.
So I stopped one day, and asked myself "What am I good at?"
It didn't take me long to realize, "Hey, I'm pretty familiar with the internet, I might as well see if there is some money to be made on it."
As of now, I have been on the internet for over 10 years. (Since I was 11 actually)
For most of those years I just messed around with things like playing games, making websites, and other random and basically useless things.
Although, the one thing I'm VERY glad I learned how to do is make websites. That has proven to be an invaluable skill which has helped me tremendously in finding my path.
Back then I just did it for fun and made little profiles about myself so people could read about me... remember AOL?
Well, as I grew older, I began to realize that there's a lot more things to do on the internet than play games, watch videos, or chat all day. And I eventually realized that some people are making serious money on the internet.
At this point in my life, making money without a job — especially on the internet — was completely "woo woo" and mysterious to me, so I decided I better study about it.
I found myself reading endless amounts of money making eBooks, hardback books, newspapers, magazines, online articles, blogs... You name it, I read it!
By the way, I'm just 22 years old.
Well, as it turns out, all the hype I read about making it rich in just a few weeks...it's bull sh*t. I found myself let down time and time again, almost to the point where I was loosing faith in our society entirely.
Do you feel me?
Sure, something might have worked for a month or two, and I would have a LITTLE bit of extra cash. But once I stopped working HARD (and I mean REALLY HARD), the money stopped flowing in.
What's even worse: Most of the money I DID earn online went straight back to expenses and costs I incurred to generate that money in the first place! I was basically working for "the man" still!
